The Liechtenstein Weg is a national hiking trail created to link all 11 municipalities over roughly 75 km, from Balzers in the south to Ruggell in the north. Unlike long Alpine treks requiring mountain huts, this route is perfectly suited to hub-and-spoke exploration: Liechtenstein's LIEmobil bus network, remarkably dense for such a small country, makes it easy to reach each stage from a fixed base and return to the same hotel every night. The route alternates lowland vineyards, forests and typical villages, with regular views of the Rätikon massif and occasional detours up towards Malbun for hikers wanting more altitude. The hotels selected here, in Schaan and Vaduz at the centre of the route, offer easy access to the bus stops serving each stage — ideal for covering the whole country without ever changing rooms.
