Berggasthaus Ebenalp overlooks the Alpstein massif in Wasserauen, Appenzell Innerrhoden. The summit is reached in minutes by the Wasserauen-Ebenalp cable car, or via a hiking trail. Right nearby are the Wildkirchli caves and the famous cliffside Aescher restaurant, a must-see stop for hikers in the area. The site is an ideal base for exploring the ridges and lakes of the Alpstein, with views stretching on clear days as far as Lake Constance and the Austrian Alps.
