Set right on the shore of Lake Seealpsee, deep in the wild heart of the Alpstein massif, Gasthaus Forelle Seealpsee is a mountain inn reachable only on foot, after roughly an hour's walk from Wasserauen. Its 15 simple, cosy rooms are finished in natural materials and come with spring water on tap, a shower/WC, hairdryer, towels, slippers and a drying room; a crib is available on request. Rooms are let on a half-board basis only, with breakfast and dinner included. The restaurant serves homemade traditional dishes made from fresh, regional produce, best enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the lake's turquoise waters. Far from any road, the inn offers an authentic, restorative escape, combining hiking, silence and an outstanding panorama of the Alpstein peaks.
