Hotel Restaurant Alpstein was a family-run mountain inn located in Wildhaus, at the foot of the Alpstein massif. The property offered 8 simple rooms, including two singles, all with running water and shared shower/WC facilities on the floor. Its restaurant was known for regional cuisine with Italian specialities, served in a warm, family atmosphere with views of the surrounding mountains. Important note: this establishment closed permanently on 1 March 2026. Its owners, Natalie and Jean Pierre Schaller, have since opened a new restaurant, "Frieda", at Gasthaus Friedegg, from 1 July 2026 onward.
