At Leugangen, a family-run cattle farm managed by Johann Dörig and Pia Dobler, guests can sleep on straw in a barn perched at 1,050 metres, on the ridge separating Brülisau and Wasserauen in Appenzell Innerrhoden. The farm, spread over some 40 hectares devoted to dairy farming and calf rearing, offers an unspoilt rural setting with open views over the Alpstein range and the surrounding Appenzell countryside. The straw dormitory can sleep up to 18 people, a format popular with families and groups seeking an unusual night close to nature. The site is also known to paragliders for its nearby take-off spot. It is a simple, welcoming stop to round off a day's hiking in the Alpstein region.

The farm sits on the ridge linking Brülisau to Wasserauen, in Appenzell Innerrhoden, at the heart of the Alpstein range. The site is popular with paragliders for its take-off point and with hikers following the ridge trails, which offer views of the surrounding alpine peaks. The villages of Weissbad and Brülisau, with their shops and bus stops, are a few kilometres away. Liechtenstein is just under an hour's drive away. The nearest airport is Sankt Gallen-Altenrhein, about 23 km away.
