Hotel Hofbalzers occupies a historic building in the heart of Balzers, Liechtenstein's southernmost municipality. A former horse-relay and post station, the house hosted Russian general Alexander Suvorov in 1799 during his campaign against Napoleon, and was run for over four decades as a family business hotel before becoming the 3-star superior property classified today by Liechtenstein's tourism office. Rooms feature flat-screen TVs, a minibar and a safe, complemented by bathrobes and slippers provided on arrival. Guests can unwind in the steam bath and fitness room, and enjoy a generous buffet breakfast each morning. The Leonardo restaurant specialises in fish dishes served in a refined setting. Currently temporarily closed, the property remains a notable piece of Liechtenstein's hospitality heritage, combining centuries of tradition with contemporary comfort.

Hotel Hofbalzers sits right in the centre of Balzers, at the southern tip of Liechtenstein, about 1.5 km from the Swiss border. Gutenberg Castle, perched on its rocky outcrop, overlooks the village just a few hundred metres away. The capital Vaduz, with its princely castle and the Liechtenstein Treasure Chamber, is reached in around ten minutes by car. Mountain lovers will appreciate the proximity of the Malbun ski resort, while the Lawena Museum, dedicated to the country's history of electrification, lies a few kilometres away. Sankt Gallen-Altenrhein Airport is the nearest air access point.
